Julius Caesar, whose full name is Gaius Julius Caesar, was born in Rome on July 12, 100 B.C.E. He was in a aristocratic family. His father was Gaius Julius Caesar, a Praetor who controlled the province of Asia and his mother was Aurelia Cotta. The family was not wealthy, but it was a well known household. When Julius Caesar was sixteen years old, his father died on 85 B.C.E. and Julius became the head of the family. During this time, Rome was very unstable with a civil war. The civil war was between his uncle Gaius Marius and Lucius Cornelius Sulla. Rome also couldn’t handle the size of the land and citizens. Caesar realized that money was the solution to going into the Roman politics and made an effort to support the country’s nobility. …show more content…
