There are many aspects of one’s life that together, create one’s overall identity. Even though one’s physical appearance and possessions are included in the generic makeup of one’s identity, their relevancy is much smaller compared to one’s character and personality.
There is some truth to the matter that a person’s, especially celebrities’, belongings give insight as to who they are on the inside. Unnecessary, and exceedingly extravagant assets ultimately leads to onlookers believing that a person is self-centered and arrogant. Which is somewhat agreeable, due to the fact that there are multiple celebrities who illustrate this standard way of thinking. For instance, Kanye West. West is an American rapper who is not only known for his music, but notorious for his vanity and large ego. To prove that his statements are true, West buys luxurious items, such as designer clothes, that the average person wouldn’t be able to purchase themselves, to display that he is in fact better than everybody else. Although West’s personal belongings display his overwhelming wealth, it is not what he physically has that identifies him as a despisable person, but the way he insolently showcases his riches and how he selfishly puts himself on a pedestal that allows for him to be conceived as snobbish.
