In the play The Taming of the Shrew, sisters Kate and Bianca are complete opposites, they have different personality. Bianca is the youngest and she is nice and respectful unlike her older sister Kate she is rude and disrespectful. The problem between these girls and the family is that every suitor wants to marry Bianca but Bianca can get married until Kate is married. Nobody wants to date Kate due to her always talking back and having a rude attitude. Kate and Bianca are two sisters who are complete opposites. Kate is the oldest daughter they call her the shrew due to her personality. She is an aggressive person. Her character makes guys not want her that’s why nobody wants to marry her. Kate feels like she’s not the favorite, she thinks her dad just wants to give her up and not deal with her no more. She also feels empty due to how she doesn’t have a mother by her side. When Petruchio decided that he wanted to marry Kate, Baptista warned Petruchio how Kate is and how she reacts to things. “Well, good luck! I hope you’re successful. But prepare yourself for some unpleasantness” (2.1.138).
