Katniss went to the games accompanied by Peeta Mellark, the boy with the bread, Katniss has had an encounter with him before when he saved her and her family from hunger. In this book Katniss learns that survival in not just about getting food and water but its about strategy. At the games Katniss manages to survive until the incident with the tracker jackers, she needed extra help from her little ally, Rue. Rue was a 12 year old girl from district 11 who had great abilities to climbs trees and also knew natural medicines they could find. Rue was Katniss's ally until boy from district one killed her and that made Fatness kill his first person in the games. Followed by this Katniss decided to do something that would show the game makers that she was not in agreement but in denial. The story starts its end with something unexpected, Claudius Templesmith announces that there can now be 2 victors from the same district, that's when Katniss calls Peeta. When there is no answer, Katniss decides to go and find him. Peeta had been camouflaging in the mud and was seriously hurt by Cato after Peeta saved Katniss's life. They manage to survive by Katniss who knows exactly how to do it. At the end they thought they had finally won,
