Ken Robinson Metaphor

Ken Robinson uses the metaphor of school as a factory in his video to establish his argument on what he views as wrong with the current schooling situation. This metaphor helps to establish the concept that students are essentially oppressed in the current schooling situation. Another interesting metaphor he present is one which compared grouping children by grade to grouping products by manufacturing date. This comparison raises the question as to why we still do this now that we are aware of the varying abilities of children all at varying ages. Comparing Robinson to the textbook he tends to favor the conception of learning as development.
