Kepler's Argument Against Gravity

We can’t see it, but is one of the most accepted things out there. There’s little to no fights from any side that argues against gravity existing like other scientific matters. We know that gravity keeps us rooted on the ground, but there are many more things that it’s involved; it is the force that attracts everything together and maybe that’s why everyone agrees on something for once.
During ancient Greek times, philosophers thought that gravity had no relation to the objects in space but they were incorrect. However Aristotle, thought that there must be some kind of natural force acting and that it had a tendency to push things towards Earth’s center. This idea, among other similar ones, are from before the 16th century but lasted till …show more content…

Kepler explained more about astronomy than physics itself but its ideas help us understand physics. Specifically, Kepler’s laws about planter movement was later improved by Newton who did directly work with physics. Kepler’s 1st law states that orbits around the sun are elliptical while his 2nd elaborates on this and explains how the lines from the sun to the planet are equal at equal time intervals. Kepler’s third laws explains the equation used to explain the correlation between distance and period of evolution when talking about an orbit. It was around this time that Galileo found out about gravity’s acceleration. He found this out when studying motion. Any object that falls, falls due to the gravitational force; this is true whether we are talking about the Earth, the moon, or any other body. The acceleration at which an object falls specifically on earth is about 9.8 m/s2 and is constant meaning as every second passes its velocity is increasing by 9.8m/s. Although the acceleration of the moon among other bodies is not the same, it should still be constant. The reason that the acceleration changes is due to the …show more content…

He states that gravity is not actually a force but that it’s an effect of space. Additionally, he states that mass causes space to be curved that then causes bodies to accelerate due to the following of the curves. This is what predicted the bending of our light (as its moving through space) and what led us to discover black holes. In general, Einstein’s theory shows us an invisible 4th dimension that is caused by gravity and that can be measured to some extent. Einstein also used the Principle of Equivalence in his theory. The Principle of Equivalence states that inertial mass and gravitational mass are equal in magnitude. To find inertial mass use the following formula :m_inertia= F_net/a. Gravitational mass uses a different even though the magnitude is the same as inertial mass. The formula is as follows: m_g=(r^2
