Poetry is the literature created from the soul. The idea behind poetry feeds from the emotion and the creativity given by the author. For some, Poetry is understood as the desire for no written rules or room for boundaries. This reflection will present an analysis of the various techniques and interventions which develops a poem. The reflection will also compare and critic the works of Charles Olson (1997) and Jill Jones (2009).
Each and every author create a unique way of describing their own encounters that they have had in their life by bringing literary aspects and enriching the experiences from their lives and adding it to the story to place emphasis on the events that have had an impact on their lives. Poetry is an important part of literature which conveys an author 's ideas across to the reader through the use of descriptive language. Poetry helps an author to express their inner emotions and often incorporates various poetic devices which enriches the text. Poetry gives the reader a different perspective and when read closely, can give the audience a look into the authors imagination. Likewise, poetic devices enhance the writing and can drastically change the mood of the poem, as well as, how the reader interprets the poem. Poetic devices are important in literature because they help to convey a message, add spontaneity to a poem, and give the reader a strong visual.
During this unit, strategies were extremely necessary due the fact that poems are not my strongest type of writing. One of the strategies that really helped me was in my WNB on April eighteenth, “Poets use ordinary objects to craft story poems.” This strategy helped me because, it made me realize that I can create poems from just an ordinary object, as seen in my poems, Secrets, Baseball, Security cameras, and Old Glory. Another strategy that I used was also from my WNB from April twenty-second, “Poets write poems by looking hard at what’s going on in our world.” This strategy helped me, because it helped me realize that I can look deeper into an object.
Poetry can be used as a completely separate language on how someone can express him or herself, voice their opinions on issues, as well as create something a person can enjoy reading and writing. What makes poetry unique is that it takes ideas and puts them into simple language that the reader can understand and relate to through emotion and imagery. On the other hand, poetry in its form can also be a puzzle in how to interpret what the poem has to say or what the meaning behind or the subject of the poem. The construction, as well as the heart and soul that goes into the creation process of the poem, is what drives the poems to be as unique as the poet intends them to be. Two examples of this are Terrence Hayes and Harryette Mullen who are
Throughout the poem, the speaker whether it is the author or another struggling, describes their actions to be free and bold. However, a regular teacher striving to become a well-known poet is difficult, leading Markham to compose a poem that would show his journey of achieving goals by being uplifting and positive. Also, by emphasizing challenges that are more than likely to happen, and being able to overcome them. By utilizing tone, simile, and imagery Markham creates the hopeful theme that being brave and courageous will lead to further success. One method Markham uses to establish a sense of optimism throughout the poem is tone.
Poetry Analysis Once the poem “History Lesson” was written numerous poetry foundations celebrated it for many reasons. “History Lesson” not only makes an impact on literature today it has also impacted people also. The poem uses many techniques to appeal to the reader.
Mr. Keating not only taught his students the English curriculum he also taught his students how to think for themselves. For his first lesson he had the students rip out pages from the textbook, these pages consisted of instructions for the “right” way to evaluate a poem. Ripping out these pages demonstrated that
The timing of legislations introduced regarding abortion influenced the lobbying methods, the resources and the alliance-building capacity of pro-abortion campaigners. In the UK, campaigns for the liberalization of law on abortion began in the 1930s, with legislation being passed in 1967. Thus, in Britain, the first-wave liberal feminists campaigned for abortion, who were mostly middle-class. Feminists in the 1960s emphasized the sisterhood between women and a shared oppression by men (and society), whereas second-wave feminism was more radical in its ideology and emphasized social divisions between women. The latter shaped the birth control debates of the 70s and 80s, and the differing opinions prevented the feminist groups from presenting

Poetry is a piece of literature where the author shares his ideas of a subject or person. He is attempting to allow the reader an understanding of his feelings regarding this subject. Most of the time poetry can be very pleasing to the ear; however, at times it can be written in a manner that is odd. Some poetry is written in a way that the reader can “hear”, “feel”, “see” or “taste” elements in the poem. Some poems may rhyme while others may not need to in order to convey the message.
Poetry is a very unique type of writing. Poetry allows people to express their emotions in a way they feel comfortable. Every poem has a meaning to it, whether it is talking about food, interest, or a moment in their lives. Readers often mistake the poet as the narrator, although in many cases this is true. Many poets are the narrators and the poems are about their personal life.
Poetry is a skill that many people do not believe should be taught in schools. They think that it’s a waste of time, and that it has no meaning in our lives outside of school. Educating students on poetry has been a widespread debate for many years. Students argue that poetry should not be taught in school because they believe that it won't be needed in their future. However, others argue that it should be because it can help further expand one's knowledge of the language.
