Studies indicate that the more diverse learning environment is the more the more likely the students’ level of critical thinking increases.(Diversity-in-Education) With a diverse learning environment, the greater the increase in students’ level of knowledge and awareness of not only others but of themselves. This benefit students as they learn to challenge assumptions, communicate and make meaningful connections with others. Consequentially, a generation of students benefiting from diverse learning environments have the potential of impacting and inspiring the global world in ways never seen.

Like many other schools across the country the students in this context are as diverse in their learning preference as they are in their language of origin. Unfortunately, teachers are not given the resources nor the flexibility to address this key issue of diversity with validity. Teachers are equipped with mediocre resources at best and a curriculum map that dictates a set pace for all students. Teachers are given teaching materials that does not address the different learning styles of the students and are required to show evidence that lessons are being develop, implemented and evaluated using
