Complete the MI inventory in the “learning activities” folder. What intelligence areas were your strengths? Since we tend to teach to our strengths use the “Multiple Intelligence Menu” on page 71 of the Ryan and Cooper text to locate and then describe at least two strategies that you could use in your teaching that incorporate intelligences other than the ones you identified as your strengths.
After completing the Multiple Intelligences inventory, one of the strengths was my kinesthetic strength. This cannot be any more accurate. I studied Kinesiology during my undergraduate degree. I have always learned best when moving and one strategy that best represents that is hands-on learning. I will be focusing on teaching physical education, so using hands-on learning in my teaching will help incorporate intelligence to my students. Another strategy would be creating a movement or sequence of movements to explain a skill. Many students have trouble kicking a soccer ball. If I am able to create a movement or sequence to help explain the concept, it will incorporate my strengths to help other students learn.
