Kind Witch? “Never judge a book by its cover”. Should young Katherine Tyler trust old Hannah Tupper. Katherine, or also known as Kit, was doing her job as a school teacher teaching kids when she had an amazing idea! Instead of just reading the children the bible stories, the pupils could act them out! Unfortunately, it wasn't going so well because of the hasty casting and the story was the parable of “The Good Samaritan”. The children were “acting” out the beat and steal part on a kid, who happened to not be liked so much by the others, when the school inspector came by. Kit ended up losing her job and ran to a beautiful place she knew of, the meadow. She cried herself to sleep that night in the glorious meadow. Hannah must have heard Kit because she found her laying face down in the meadow. Hannah told Kit about when she was young she had become quite upset and discovered the meadow too. Nearly every townsperson believed that Hannah was an evil witch. Also several times the townspeople had accused Hannah and taken her from her home to a trial. There was also danger in being with or even talking to Hannah. On Katherine’s ride to Connecticut a little girl had dropped her toy of the edge of the boat and became very upset. Kit couldn't help feeling bad for the little girl so she jumped overboard and rescued to the doll. Now the rest of the passengers on the boat didn't know that Kit could swim so they got the idea that Kit was a witch. With the townspeople knowing about that incident they could think that they have two witches infested in their town. If the rest of the town found out about Katherine and Hannah's friendship they could think that the two were plotting against the rest of the town. As if having Kit in the town was bad enough, she had made friends with the other so called witch as
