Knowledge And Theory For Ineffective Small Groups

The strained faces around the table speak of the tension that exist between the members. The group’s interaction has deteriorated to the point where the intervention of an outside source is the only option to reach effective communication. For the company and the project, this means loss of money, time, and valuable resources. This scenario is a clear example of the outcome of ineffective small group interactions. As such, scholars have developed models to assist businesses and small groups in navigating this intricate setting. For this reason, this paper will touch on four general systems concepts (Tubbs, 2012) that provide knowledge and theory for effective small groups interactions. According to Tubbs (2012), Luft’s research states that the most effective way to decrease quadrants 2-4 is to increase the size of quadrant 1. Tubbs states that “Open communication for many years has been regarded as the ultimate strategy for improving employee morale and productivity” (Tubbs, 2012, p. 85). For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” (English Standard Version) Not surprising, this concept is reflected in the research of Bovée &Thill (2016) with their “audience-centered approach” or the “” you” attitude” (p. 8). Thus, as believers we can approach the small group interactions with biblical principles that reflect the love of Christ and thereby reflect these principles to fellow group members, thereby allowing ourselves to be used be Christ according to His
