Did you know? The KKK was formed in Pulaski, Tennessee in 1865. It started as a social club for confederate soldiers, and then developed into a terrorist organization. The KKK was able to commit such terrible acts of violence without impunity because southern communities were afraid of the violence turning on them, people in southern communities wanted to be accepted, also, the KKK had power over the people in the south. Southern communities were afraid of violence turning on them. The Ku Klux Klan had so much control they could go to people’s stores and they would automatically open them. The store owners would give them a rope, at each store they went to each rope was coiled for them.
