After we have finished our six periods decisions on the simulation analysis, we have made three big mistakes during our analysis on staffing, training, and compensation parts. First of all, our team was not balance all of the decisions perfectly at the very beginning quarters. we knew that we have $350,000 budget can be spent each quarter, however, our G-person team has spent more budget for staffing part in the first quarter since we thought more employees would improve company 's productivity and quality rates. In contrast, this decision leads us to the problem that we don 't have much money to increase benefits and training for employees in our company. In addition, we only covered basic benefits and training such as Employee-Funded
Imagine being on call 24 hours a day, and during the day receiving a phone call from an expecting mother that says, “MY WATER JUST BROKE!”. Imagine getting out of bed at 2 a.m. and rushing to the clinic to help deliver the mother’s new arrival. You enter the building, walk down a few corridors, and finally make it to the delivery room. As soon as you get there you have to be prepared to get straight to work. You lay the mother gently on the bed being sure to keep her calm as she endures the contractions that come and go every 3 minutes.
for me to attain yet the most complicated for me to reflect on since I cannot envision being in this field and not performing with integrity, equality and in an fair manner. ELCC 5.2. This standard modes main beliefs of self-awareness, thoughtful practice, simplicity, and decent behavior as associated to their roles within the building. The evaluation is the final part of my three mandatory written pieces of my graded unit. The final evaluation stage of the graded unit requires me to reflect on how the activity went, whilst highlighting my strengths, areas that require future development and identify my weaknesses, this, in turn, will enable me to adapt my practice to ensure I am continuously supporting patients to the standards set within The Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC). Looking back on the activity, I am proud of myself for being able to plan and follow the activity through to complication. When completing the book with Mr X I found it to be an enjoyable activity that not only offered benefits to Mr X but also to myself, it allowed me to understand the importance of building a therapeutic relationship with a patient. Building a successful therapeutic relationship required me to have good communication and interpersonal skills, (Radcliffe and Ford, 2015), that allowed me to build a relationship with Mr X based on mutual trust and respect.
For SIM lab, I was the primary RN. I received bedside SBAR report about my patient. My patient was admitted with “indigestion” and back pain. When I was doing my assessment, my patient denied any pain, but suddenly, she started complaining of back pain 6/10. The tech took her V/S while the charge nurse and I were figuring out what interventions or orders to use for my patient’s back pain.
I am very thankful for the opportunity to intern at the Waterfront Public School and having the chance to work with two very different students with DD. This experience gave me a better understanding of how the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) employs DSWs and how they value our role within their classrooms. I was fortunate enough to work with a collaborative team of staff that encouraged my professional growth by allowing me to assess and implement new teaching strategies. This team also provided me with much needed feedback and criticism along the way, which I valued and learned from. In addition, this education support placement allowed me to fulfill many performance elements related to learning outcome seven of the DSW Program Manual.
My placement was at Toronto Rehab at the Lyndhurst location. I was placed in a seating clinic to work with neurological clients who either have a spinal cord injury, spina bifida, polio or general decline in function regarding their posture. I was assigned to work with Andree Gauthier; she has twelve years of experience when it comes to wheelchair seating and positioning. My placement started from March 6 to April 7 and my work hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm. From my previous intermediate placement, I had the opportunity to do an inventory of all mobility aides residents use at the LTC home.
I believe in this career I will get to have the pleasure of experiencing both. Being a mother myself, I know firsthand the unexplainable feeling of your first ultrasound or they day you find out whether its boy or girl. I will get to interact with the patients and be the one to deliver the news first hand. As in anything, it’s not always rainbows and sunshine. There will be times where I have to deliver bad, or even devastating new.
The Process of Reflection The process of reflection is central to clinical supervision. Launer (2003) describes external and internal factors in supervision whereby clinical practice and sharing skills are external and reflection is an ‘internal conversation.’ Brunero & Stein-Parbury (2008) discussed the effects of clinical supervision in nursing staff and argued that self-reflection generates a sense of self-awareness and knowledge to the individual. Supervisees or students may be asked what happened during a clinical event, how they felt, the implications of their actions and what they would do differently if faced with the same situation.
Many expectent paremts attemd childbith education classes to help them prepare for labor. Classes may be offered by hospitals, health care providers, or private teachers. Childbith education classes offered by hospitals may also included a tour of the facility. Classes might also review specific rules of the hospital regarding vistors, support persons, and electronics.
The best part of my day with this family is when they thanked me for my help and for taking the time to show them how to care for their baby. The father expressed gratitude as they both did not encounter good experiences with nurses during their stay. I felt really sad when I heard this, because I could have been someone who did not give them the time and information
This essay is going to reflect on my own management and leadership style in delivering patient care. It will discuss the effectiveness of the other leadership and management style within the multi-disciplinary team and its impact on delivering patient care. I will use as an example, my previous experience back home as a nurse and compare it to my current experience in the United Kingdom (UK). This will show my strength and weakness as well as my new learning skills, which have changed my practice. I will be using Driscoll model of reflection (2007) to guide my thought and refine my ideas.
I saw learning intentions and success criteria posted on the board. I saw candidate use the white board to model the work through of several ratio and proportion math problems, whole class activity. Although, many students were off task, I did observe candidate address at least 2 students off task students, one for throwing a calculator and another for the use of profanity. I saw a smart board in the room, but it was not in use. I observed candidate continuously move around the room to provide support to students who needed it.
A. OBJECTIVE AND THEORETICAL BACKGROUND In this individual reflective report, I will discuss how the Consulting Project course gave me opportunities to experience, explore and evaluate the real-life business case, how it strengthen my practical business knowledge, problem solving and leadership skills, and how the learning process will support my personal development goals. To help structure my reflective report, I will apply the Kolb’s model of reflection which we learned from the LPDCM course. This model is also known as learning through experience, described through the Kolb’s Learning Cycle: Figure 1. Kolb’s Learning Cycle (Source: Kolb, 2005)
Introduction In this reflective essay I will reflect upon the course based on the assignments and projects I have accomplished this semester. Recent research (Kornblith, 2012:3) identifies that reflection is an active process and making sense of the experience through the understanding of one’s actions. As suggested by (Roberts, 2011:63) she states that the understanding of reflection have been used to develop an action stage, which can further help to improve my skills and knowledge towards my course. This is vital as it ensures that i get the most out of my learning experience and i could use them to their maximum benefit.
