Latimer's Life And Accomplishments

Latimer Howard Lewis was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on September 4th of 1848. Larimer’s parents fled from slavery. But his father was recaptured but only to be let go again by abolishment owners. Did you know that Latimer served in the U.S Navy? He served in the civil war. After Latimer was discharched from the navy he joined a law firm, called Crosby and Gould. And he began to invent very smart and useful items.

A company called U.S. Electric Lighting Company, hired Latimer. And that sparked the inventing age for Latimer. And soon after Latimer quit the electrician company, and became part of Thomas Edison invention team. And the first invention that Latimer made was while he was in the team. In 1886 Latimer made the light bulb system. Astonishing a lot of people! Did you know that Latimer also worked with Alexzander graham bell? I sure didn’t! Latimer also had a wife named Mary Wilson. They got married on the year of 1873 on December 10th. Latimer was an intelligent man and a very creative one too. But when Crosby and Gould closed there law firm.Latimer was without a job so him and his wife moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was a bright an bold person he also improved the light bulb to what it is today. He was very cleaver in a sense. Did you know that Latimer was awarded 6 patents? WOW! And in 1968 he was named after a public school in Brooklyn New York. As you can see he has achieved a lot in his life. He was also in the top 10 celebrated African Americans in the United States. And he also invented the toilet systems for rail road system. He was an example for all. He also published his very own book. His book was about incandental electric lighting.
