Many events have occurred in Latin America such as slavery, the Cuban Revolution, poverty, the war on drugs, and emigration. Slavery was used on plantations, and, for money. The Cuban Revolution occurred due to communism, poor conditions, and The Cuban Missile Crisis. Poverty, the war on drugs, and emigration were mainly caused by economic issues in Latin America. Slavery was used in Latin America for plantations and the most important crop was Sugar Cane. The Europeans used indigenous people as slaves when they arrived from their sick, diseased countries. Since they had diseases back home, they brought these diseases to Latin America. This had killed many indigenous people, in “Slavery In Latin America”, it states, “Due to the high numbers of death in the indigenous populations, the Europeans needed more labor. The Spanish and Portuguese began shipping slaves from west Africa to Latin America.” This led to enslaved Africans working for them from the late 1400s to the late 1800s. …show more content…
