In Shakespeare's famous play ‘Romeo and Juliet”, many of the characters have a tragic ending. The most notable example of this is the death of the two title characters, Romeo and Juliet. In the final act of the play, Romeo and Juliet end up killing themselves because of a misunderstanding of the complicated events unfolding. There are many people who could be blamed for their deaths, but I think the character most at fault is Friar Lawrence. There are multiple reasons why I believe that Friar Lawrece is the most at fault for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. All of these involve the complicated plan that the Friar came up with to help the lovers. The most major flaw in his plan that most likely caused the deaths of Romeo and Juleit was how heavily the plan revolved around perfect timing. Why should Friar Lawrence be blamed if Romeo and Juliet were the ones who killed themselves? Although this was the case, I still believe that it was Friar Lawrence's fault that Romeo and Juliet died. Romeo and Juliet both had a lot of faith in Friar Lawrence, and it seemed like they almost looked up to him. They were confident in his plan and his abilities to give them a better future with each other. When the plan went entirely wrong, they believed there was nothing they could do but kill themselves. Friar Lawrence should have realized how risky his plan was, and how badly things could have turned out if it went wrong. He also should have realized that Romeo and Juliet were very dramatic when things didn’t go as planned, and were very reckless when it came to important decisions. He should have thought his plan through better, and at least acknowledged what could go wrong and what could have been done to prevent it. If Friar Lawrence had planned his ideas better, Romeo and Juliet could have had a better ending with each
