In my brief I will explore the effect of the Loving V. Virginia (1967) on the case of Obergefell V. Hodges (2015) and how it led to legalization of same sex marriage. I will prove that the 9th amendment which addresses the right to marriage did not specify that marriage should be between a man and a woman. I will also prove that the precedents set by prior cases reflected on the decision of the supreme justice. I will first explain the prior cases and discuss their rulings and reflect on the reason judges chose this. I will then discuss the Obergefell v. Hodges case and its similarity to prior cases .
1 Introduction When you hear about the words ‘servant’ and ‘leader’, what would you think about? Many people will come up with the fact those are contrary words. If you draw a hierarchical pyramid in your mind, the servant is placed in the bottom class and the leader is located in the top part on the contrary. However, there is one leadership theory called servant leadership.
On the positive side, creating a high-quality LMX relationship with employees can create an environment with a high level of trust and respect. However, this theory seems to put leaders into a position where they will treat employees differently based on the ability to create either a high or low quality relationship. The truth is not everyone will like each other on a personal level. My personal opinion is that the employee is not being paid to like me, they are being paid to do a specific set of duties and maintain a level of responsibility and accountability for their work. Treating employees differently based the level of relationship I have been able to forge (which is not always in my control) can cause a rift between team members and is a breeding ground for nepotism, since the employees that I have created a high-quality relationship may be viewed by others as receiving special treatment and impacts decisions such as performance reviews, opportunities for advancement, and how incentives may be distributed.
The circumstance where a strong leader would follow a weak leader is when a stronger leader may want to be nice and do it out of respect for the person’s office or past achievements. Another case is that the stronger leader is commanded to follow the weaker leader. However, the usual case is that the weaker leaders usually follow the more stronger ones.
