Module 3 Assignment: Leadership Philosophy Shanie Adams Fort Hays State University, Student AEP 855: Understanding the Foundations of Education Dr. Kevin Splichal Ph.D. June 12, 2023 Introduction When creating my own Leadership Philosophy I think about my own values and beliefs. Being able to incorporate communication, organization, honesty, positivity, and empathy. These values form the foundation of my leadership philosophy guiding my actions and interactions with team members.
As a result of being in this position of leadership I have learned responsibility and leadership skills.
The core philosophical value of my life is displayed through human equality and equal rights. As a young advocate for equality for all, it is the core of who I am and therefore a philosophy of hope that I seek. My mission is to utilize my voice constructively for the betterment of myself, my family, and society. I sense that when we as a collective whole work for the betterment of everyone, the whole can achieve great heights.
I am a current high school English teacher. I manage my classroom as though I am managing managers and or teacher. I present my students with added responsibility on top of their classroom assignments to not only ensure that are retaining the classroom lessons, but taking ownership in what they learn. I practice leadership in my classroom by not only teaching my students the lesson content, but leading them in the right direction in which the content will benefit them the most, according to God’s chosen path for each individual student in my classroom. As a leader, I exemplify the behavior of leadership by portraying professionalism by acting in an ethical and moral manner, having high set values and honesty inside and outside of the classroom,
Through my experiences in leadership positions, I have learned many lessons. I have learned when to ask people for help, when I could not get the person in my group to corporate or at least not cause problems I went to my band director and counselor and we made an action plan do that she was please and felt like she was contributing. I have learned when to take a stand and do what I know is right. And I have learned that small actions can make a big impact and even change the
In my opinion, we all have a desire and a want to feel needed. However, I think our entire being revolves around who we are as a individual as well as what our values are, which in turn is what keeps us going somewhat in a stable manner. My desire to be accepted goes far beyond feeling needed; it is a vital human desire we all share, and one that is imperative to our emotional health and wellbeing. We communicate with others by sharing and enjoying as a way to feel as well as exchange with others aspects of life. In my opinion, it is normal to need to feel like you are important, like you are an extremely rare part of a relationship and like others needs and wants you.
Leadership Philosophy & Teaching Statement I deliver this personal leadership philosophy & Teaching statement to you. This is nothing but my personal belief system and ethics about works & teaching. I am workaholic in nature, which is my passion. Hence, I can undoubtedly learn what I trust, what to presume from others or students, what I expect others or students. So, in this way you can help me to become a better leader & teacher.
Before completing my internship I also volunteered at the Mental Health Association of Orange County. In this organization I was matched with a child, where I served as a mentor. I helped the child become more resilient in day-to-day functioning. I communicated with the child’s therapist and discussed issues that needed to be addressed. This gave me the opportunity to serve as a positive role model so I was definitely viewed as a leader by the
Something I was repetitively told in elementary school is the importance of being a leader, and everyday I am thankful that I listened to my teachers back then. I can honestly say at the time it was just something drilled into my mind like math or reading but I did not completely understand what it really meant; however, today I can confidently say that I fully understand what it means to posses this quality. Because I demonstrate dependability and integrity in extracurricular roles, industriousness and human compassion while planning events for my current high school, and character through volunteering, I embody the quality that is leadership. To begin, I demonstrate dependablity while in the roles of the National Honors Society Vice President
Throughout the semester, I have learned about the principles of leadership, and how I can apply each one into my future in the health field. The first principle is Model the Way. My understanding of this principle is that in order to be a leader, one must demonstrate the path to go on, in order to be successful. The commitments of this principle are to clarify values and set an example. I believe that one must be able to set an example so that those following will know what to expect.
Leadership is an innovative process that aligns professionals with a goal, objective or vision statement. Leadership is defined as emerging and supporting a vision for instructing by learning and communicating a visional statement effectively. Leadership exemplifies the art of leading others to deliberately create a result. In leadership, leaders display themselves as a guiding tool for others in this case for teachers. In leadership, it is important that leaders coordinate the effective management of resources, namely time, material and people, to ensure that they are conveying an effective teaching and learning environment.
What is my leadership philosophy? Over twenty years ago, I raised my right hand and took an oath of office by which I swore to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.” I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
Part I: Introduction (Leading Self) Leadership is the ability to influence an individual or group of individuals to maximize their potential and to work together to complete a common goal. While there are several different types of leaders and manners in which individuals try to lead, the most effective leaders typically all have very similar characteristic traits. Leaders need to be goal oriented. The best leaders always set goals for themselves.
I believe leadership is a relationship. The relationship with supervisors, subordinates, and peers is an ongoing process that takes practice to become a better leader. Along with practice we must re-evaluate our leadership philosophy throughout our careers. Upon my own re-evaluation I am renewing my aspiration and commitment to our team. I expect to focus on listening to everyone for their value added to the team, learning from all of our experiences, then lead by challenging the process and promoting a common
From my point of view , Leadership has more to it than I can possibly imagine. I define leadership as the art of enabling a group of people get to a specific destination. As a leader your main focus was to enable your followers lead theselves. As i think deeper i realise a person cannot choose to be a leader. I think a lot of the time people take on leadership positions without knowing.
