The purpose of this essay is to understand why leaders in the Army should understand why it is good to keep an open mind about changing their style of leading their Soldiers. Leadership styles help Soldiers in the Army build confidence, character, and courage within themselves and their platoons. Leaders in the Army should understand the best way to lead the lower enlisted Soldiers that fall in their team or squad. Understanding the leadership style that best fits the Soldier is important when giving a task or duty. Every Soldier should familiarize themselves with the leadership styles to know if they have to change the way they lead for the better of their Soldiers. The leader focusses on putting a higher standard for his/her Soldiers and if the Soldier is not meeting standards the leader will find a way to replace the Soldier. Someone who uses this leadership is not comfortable with only doing well, they want the best and nothing but the best. The Soldiers that fall beneath this leadership tend to not ask questions, as the leader will feel they are not fit for the team or squad. The good thing about this leadership style is that you can get the mission done in a timely manner by having Soldiers that know what their job is.
