Before I started school my mother would always read me books in Spanish I didn't know how to read or write during that time I was only 2 years old. When I started preschool that’s where I started to learn how to read and write. I don’t really remember much but what I do remember was that the first thing I learned how to write was my name. It was difficult learning how to write. My words would be squiggly but what else would you expect a preschooler writing to look like, it was a fun time being able to learn how to write.
When I started to learn how to read I remember reading the book Corduroy it was one of my favorite books when I was a child. My teacher read it to my Kindergarten class one day and from that day it became my favorite book. During that time I was learning how to read it was a hard time pronouncing the words since I was still learning all of the alphabets and the way they sound. It took some time and my older sister helped me a lot on pronouncing letters and words. My mother would also help me read but she helped me read books in Spanish.

I have a hard time understanding knowing where they belong. That is something I need to work on more it has been something I been struggling with. Looking back from all my struggles I had when I was younger I still have struggles even in high school in writing and sometimes knowing what words mean and how to properly use them. Through everything there always a way to learn, a lot of people have helped me being able to learn the things I do not know. Looking back it was way harder writing my name for the first time than it is now from all the practices I have
