I have decided to do my research project on Lenard J. Philmore. The reason Philmore is on death row is because he was charged in the November 14th, 1997 murder of Kazue Perron. Philmore and his accomplice Anthony Spann had decided that they wanted to get out of Florida and head to New York. In order to fund the trip north they decided to rob pawnshop to get the cash. When the robbery of the pawnshop failed they decided their next target would be a bank. They planned to steal a car and decided it was a must to kill the owner of the car. They went searching to find their perfect getaway car in Palm Beach. After they failed to locate a car around the Palm Beach Mall they spotted Kazue Perron in her Lexus in a local neighborhood. They decided she would be their target, once she pulled into a driveway Philmore asked to borrow her phone. She explained to Philmore that she did not live there. That’s when Philmore pulled out his gun and told her to slide over. With Philmore driving Perron’s Lexus and Spann close behind in his Subaru they drove to western Martin County where Philmore Shot and killed Perron and hid her …show more content…

The next two weeks after Philmore’s arrest during interviews with the police he changed his story several times. Each time he revised his story more of the truth came uncovered. By the time the last interview was over with Philmore had confessed to being the gunman in the murder as well as the one who robbed the bank in Indiantown.
