Leonardo Da Vinci was a painter, inventor, mathematician, and writer in the Renaissance. He became very popular as his work spread across the world. Some of his most popular work is the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Vitruvian Man, Lady with an Ermine, and Self-portrait. With his work growing in popularity his artwork was looked as a model. With his famous painting, the Mona Lisa, there is a foggy background.
Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci, the leading artist of his time period, was born in Vinci, Italy (April 15, 1452) to a wealthy family having a legal notary. He died at age 67 in Amboise, Kingdom of France (May 2, 1519) where he spent most of his lifetime. Leonardo began his career as an artist by becoming an apprentice to a known sculptor and painter named Andrea del Verrocchio at age 15, and later he continued his career by showing interest in science and nature. This was a big opportunity for Leonardo and gave him the chance to serve as an engineer, architect, and designer of court festivals at his time period. Leonardo studied a variety of scientific study, from science of mechanics to anatomy, his interest in the human body and it's movement helped peaked him into an interest in art. Leonardo Da Vinci was an artist, but he really thought like a scientists. He had questions anywhere from how birds could fly to how the human body worked. The artist of my choice in this case would be Leonardo da Vinci. He is an Italian artist who made history in inventions, painting, sculpturing, and engineering among other fields. Leonardo da Vinci is considered as one of the greatest painters to ever exist (Freud 34). His exploits in enhancing humanism in paintings are epitomized in the renaissance period (Burke 211). Vinci’s imaginations and immense curiosity are still remembered as some of the aspects that complemented his talent.
Leonardo Da Vinci was known for his many inventions and beautiful works of art. His work has inspired many inventors throughout history, as well as, historians to study his work. He also inspired many exhibits such as the Da Vinci Exhibition. At the Exhibition they have recreations of many of Da Vinci’s most substantial inventions that we use in our everyday modern day life, which without him could have never been possible. Da Vinci was known for thousand of designs that became things that we use today and know for this that he never released but, were instead kept secret so that people could not use them for evil.
