The night of Kristallnacht and the rising tensions between our community forced our family to flee to the french border city of Natzwiller. Our family was strong in business as we were successful in revolution and our small workshop grew into a family empire as generations of Schneider lived to keep our proud business open through the wars and the depression. This shoe factory was crucial to us as it provided us success until the night of Kristallnacht. That night, the SA and our neighbors killed our Jared and family’s business. Almost two years in the city of Natzwiller, our family grew into eighteen and a new shoe empire was building until the Nazis invaded the city.
In June of 1775, 2,400 British soldiers met 1,600 militia members at Breed 's Hill. While the battle took place at Breed 's Hill, it 's famously called the Battle of Bunker Hill. In the middle of the night the militia members quietly set up at at Breed 's Hill. This forced the British to battle uphill. While it seems like the colonists had all the advantages, they ended up losing because they were extremely low on ammunition.
At the end of third quarter, the brass performs the crowd favorite, “brass suicides”. Throughout the fourth quarter the band plays more stand tunes. At the end of the game, the band marches back to the band room and finishes the night with their rendition of ‘Trojan Pride’. With a goal to inspire and a passion to pursue, New Berlin Blitz has founded five FIRST LEGO League teams with intentions to educate the younger minds in our community. To reach students in early elementary, New Berlin Blitz is in the works of starting a Jr. FLL team at Poplar Creek elementary. Our FLL teams are enrolled at two district elementary schools and one private school. We are currently working to expand even further, and hope to initiate FLL teams at the remaining two district elementary schools. Founded three years ago, these FLL teams have exceeded our expectations.

The Battle of germantown, October 4, 1777. It was a battle in the Philadelphia campaign of the American Revolutionary war. the battle was at Germantown, Pennsylvania. The British forced their way into Pennsylvania defeated the American army under General George Washington. His army failed to pull off his complex plan.
During the beginning of the “Cold War”, Berlin was an area where Europeans were able to relocate to without having to cross the international borders of Europe. In response to this east Germany, authorities thought it would be best to build a “wall” that surrounded West Berlin. After the East German government had given permission to stop the immigrants from moving into Germany the premier decided that he wanted to close its border forever. The Wall was completed within a night and day and was built with barbed wire and concrete block, it divided Berlin from one side to the other. For years after West Berlin became the hot end of the “cold” war as nuclear weapons faced off across the wall.

The cost of the Great Wall outweighed the benefits due to the fact that it allowed for and caused lots of suffering, harsh working conditions, and socioeconomic disparity. Despite being made to reduce suffering, the building of the Great Wall did the opposite, negatively impacting those who weren’t even working on the wall. In the Qin dynasty, many were sent to work on the wall. It states “Soldiers forced to leave their families and villages for several years” (Document E) Not only did soldiers have to endure the hardship of leaving their families, the families were likely in despair at losing a family member.

In 1999, we had 10 bands at the Mitchell Persimmon Festival ... for it was their 150th anniversary and they paid the bands to come). These days - most bands (such as ours) are out every Saturday traveling to contests around the State of Indiana. Sundays have become a "day of rest." Kristallnacht Kristallnacht一 often known as the “night of broken glass”, or the “Night of Crystal”, is an extremely important event that occurred during the Holocaust. This took place all over Germany, and somewhat into Austria. Eventuating on November 9th and 10th, 1938, the tragic night was the turning point of the Holocaust. This night marked the change from peaceful protests, to violent riots. The significance of Kristallnacht changed the connotation of the Holocaust from sad, to devastating.
The battle of bunker hill was both a win and a loss for the British army. The British army was surprised to see the Americans there threatening them. British military custom demanded that the British attack the Americans, even though the Americans were in a superior position. The troops stormed up the hill. The Americans waited until they could see the white of their eyes and fired.
“My dead and wounded were nearly as great in numbers as those still on duty”. This quote from Colonel William C. Oates demonstrates the catastrophe and death that occurred in Gettysburg. The battle of Gettysburg started early July 1st 1863, when General Robert E. lee led his army of Northern Virginia into Pennsylvania in late June. The Union army, led by General George G. Meade, was staying in the town of Gettysburg. The battle went on to last until July 3rd, when that night General Lee pulled his forces out of Gettysburg and pushed back to Virginia.
A sound walk, as defined by Hildegard Westerkamp, is “any excursion whose main purpose is listening to the environment.” Other reasons can be to listen to yourself and other people. Allen also states that "Soundwalking encourages group bonding through a shared, active experience, and it can be related to a variety of intellectual pursuits in music study. " The soundwalk we went on as a group was a small loop around a segment of the campus, taking a little bit more than thirty minutes to complete. We as a group were encouraged to listen for anything.
