The Life of Moses Moses was a very influential man in history. He grew up as prince in Egypt, endured many hardships, and most important of all he obeyed God. He was used by God to free the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. His prosperous future suddenly changed when Pharaoh sought to put him to death, after he had killed an Egyptian. And finally after many years, God used him to lead the Israelites out of slavery and into a land of freedom. Moses grew up as prince in Egypt, and was possibly in line to become the next Pharaoh. After having been warned by his officials that the Israelites were growing too powerful, Pharaoh made law, that all Israelite male children two and under were to be killed. To protect her baby Moses’ mother floated baby Moses down the Nile in a basket. It just so happened that the basket became stuck in the reeds by the Pharaoh’s castle, near the royal family's bathing area, where the Princess found it.
