Personal Statement
Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolved disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time?

A leadership role I’ve taken on before is link crew. Link Crew is a mixed group of juniors and seniors mentoring freshman's through there whole freshman year and also making sure they have a great first high school experience. Link crew also helps our freshman’s stay on the right path. It not only helps the freshman but also helps us juniors and seniors learn to interact with others and have better leadership skills.
In link crew I learned excellent ways to break the ice and make freshmens comfortable with communicating with each other. We discussed how we would present to the freshmen on orientation day so …show more content…

How has this challenge affected your academic achievement.
A challenge I have faced and overcame would be my freshman and sophomore year. During my freshman year I choose the wrong people to be around with and brought me all the way down to where I realized that if I keep hanging around with these people I will be attending a continuation school in a few months and upsetting my parents and family. My sophomore year I was improving in some of my classes but still had a problem hanging out with the wrong people. Till somebody came and motivated me the way no one else did. My junior year I wanted to join a sport, I attended practice everyday and tried best everyday. Till my first game where my coach pulled me over and told me I wasn’t able to play anymore because the fact that my GPA was a 1.5, This made me rethink my whole freshman and sophomore and realized how dumb I was. A month or two pass by these people start realizing i'm switching up on them but at this point I really don't care about anything about my self and school like I should have a long time
