The goal of this paper is to list and explain different ways to research a concern. There are three different methods to use in order to obtain results. The first is qualitative, the second is quantitative, and the last one is mixed methods (Research Design Types). Each one has their own unique qualities and purposes. I chose, “Where are the most ideal places to find Plethodontidae salamanders in my region”, as my research question. If I were to conduct this experiment, I would use the quantitative method to obtain my results.

Different Research Methods and How They Can Be Properly Utilized
Scientific research can become confusing and difficult very quickly. It is important to remember at all times what the desired outcome is. That is why it is imperative to pick a good research question. Once a good question has been decided, one must pick out the style of how the question or statement will be answered. This is where the researcher should spend a decent amount of time, if …show more content…

All of these are very adequative ways to conduct research, however, they won’t all work to answer the same question. For example, qualitative research is research a person conducts to gain an understanding as to why certain things work and how they do. It is not to fix an issue, but rather, an acknowledgement of an issue. It can take less time and resources to conduct, since all the researchers will be doing is recording observations and noting trends. Imagine two rows of corn were planted, row A did exceptionally well the first year it was planted. Row B was very unproductive and had a very limited yield. In order to get row B to yield properly, qualitative research should be conducted. The research should just be an observation, it shouldn’t be to make row B grow as well as row A, it should be just watching and determining the different factors between the two
