Introduction In this paper I will create a “Live Case” by experiencing the process of coaching. I will be working with my coachee to choose a problem to work on or a behavior that my coachee would like to change. I will plan and carry out a coaching session that involves stages G and R of the GROW model. I will detail the pre coaching plan, facts of the coaching session, successes and challenges of the coaching session, what I learned and areas of improvement. Therefore, I will create a pre-plan, take action and then reflect on what happened in the coaching session.
Pre-Coaching Plan My goal for this coaching session is to help my coachee choose a problem to work on or a behavior that my coachee would like to change. We will first establish …show more content…

The lesson I learned that stuck out most was learning to listen and then provide an assessment (Sullivan, 2017). I learned to listen to my coachee and then provide feedback. I usually start off telling my coachees what I think they should do and how they should do it instead of listening to them fully. Listening to my coachee fully will give me a chance to determine their problem, what they have done to fix the problem and why it hasn’t been fixed yet. It will also show the coachee that I can concerned with what they are going through.
Improvement Areas
Improvement areas in my coaching session would be to build a relationship with my coachee. In order for the coachee to trust me they should know me. Therefore, I should have introduced myself to the coachee on a personal level. By this I mean tell them a little about myself. Also, telling the coachee how long I have been a coach and my experiences being a coach. This would make the coachee comfortable enough to open up to me. It could even allow coachee to accept feedback rather it was positive or negative.
