Roles
As a coach you will have many roles to fill. One of these roles is as an educator it is important to be a good educator as you will be teaching participants key technical and tactical aspects in their sport, An example of when you would need to be a good educator is if you was coaching basketball to a group of children who are new to the and teaching them the lay-up shot, Being a good educator it is important to teach them the skills, for them to be later developed and improved. In other sports like Golf being a good educator will help you pass knowledge on to who you are teaching which can prove their ability, A golf coach could show a participant a grip on the golf club that good improve their swing therefore improve their ability to hit the ball.

Verbal communication
Verbal communication refers to the use of sounds and language to relay a message. It serves as a way to express desires, ideas and concepts and is vital to the processes of learning and teaching. In combination with nonverbal forms of communication, verbal communication acts as the primary tool for expression between two or more people.

Coaching Styles

Autocratic
Autocratic coaching is a style of coaching that makes the coach tell people what to do. It tends to be used in situations where the participant needs to learn a specific technique to further their development. Instead of letting them learn it themselves the coach does by explaining exactly what it is that needs to be done and encouraging the client to follow their lead. For example a coach would use this style if a participant was learning a new badminton serve, the coach would demonstrate how to do it first.
