For my work experience, I was placed at Industrial Alliance on West Broadway. Industrial Alliance is the fourth largest insurance company in Canada and plays a major role in the Canadian market as it serves three million people across the country. It has been helping Canadians with life and health insurance for 125 years. The business activities of Industrial Alliance include many company meetings, imaging, customer service calls, and bookkeeping. The company works hard as a team to provide a comprehensive variety of health insurance, savings and retirement plans.
REI, better known as Recreational Equipment is a company that sells sporting goods, outdoor gear and apparel. The company was founded in 1938 by Mary Lloyd Anderson, and has been a co-op since the beginning. Being a co-op has allowed REI to focus on the long-term interests of not just themselves, but their members and customers as well. (rei.com overview, 2018) The company operates 154 stores in 36 states in America, but also receives income from purchases made via magazine and online.
Mission statements will ensure that shareholders, employees and customers clearly understand what the company stands for. Mission statements also describe the organization’s overall goals. Mission statements should be written in a way that when someone reads the statement, they have an understanding of the activities that are performed in the organization. In this paper I will compare the mission statement of Chick-Fil-A Foundation with my personal mission statement. Chick-fil-A Foundation Chick-fil-A Foundation is a non-profit organization that’s sole purpose is to provide leadership and guidance to children and also support education in the local communities.
Background The history of the 519 was first established as a community centre for the North Jarvis Community and was used as a space for gay youth in 1976 to conduct a program controlled by the community. Additionally, The 519 became a safe haven for LGBTQ groups during 1982 when Toronto police were conducting bathhouse raids throughout the city. During the 80’s and 90 's, the 519 opened a support group for gay people of colour and requesting benefits to same-sex spouses. The 519 has partnered with many organizations throughout the years such as Toronto District School Board to disclose positive knowledge about children with queer parents, also with the city of Toronto to make sure long-term care homes are LGBTQ friendly.
Northrop Grumman has published a Corporate Responsibility Report on an annual basis since 2007, highlighting its goals and accomplishments in diversity and inclusion. Their 2015 goals included creating an inclusive environment through awareness and leadership training and increasing women and people of color in leadership roles. In response to their goals, Northrop Grumman redeveloped their employee survey used to measure Northrop Grumman’s efforts at creating an engaging and inclusive environment. The results provided managers insight into more effective ways to address diversity and inclusion among their immediate reports. Future generations have not been overlooked in Northrop Grumman’s diversity goals.

Introduction As the administrator of Mainstay Medical Center, I will create a mission and vision statement for the organization, identify strategic goals and recommend strategies that will be effective in achieving the goals of the organization. In this paper, I will also identify strategies to gain a competitive advantage with other organization while ensuring goals for Mainstays Medical Center to remain successful. A mission statement should align with the fundamental values of the consumers and the population it serves as well as the beliefs and competitive positions.
Morehouse School of Medicine is an appealing option for pursuing my medical education. When reading Morehouse’s mission statement, improving the health and well-being of individuals and communities grasped my attention. My clinical experiences revolve around communities that are underserved, and sharing the same mission as Morehouse is key to becoming the physician I aspire to be. One of the things that stood out to me about Morehouse is the student run Good Samaritan Health Center. I am very interested about being involved with God Samaritan, because it is akin to the Siloam Family Health Center that I volunteer at, and it is an embodiment of Morehouse’s mission.
This paper explores three health organization services that include: Washington Hospital Healthcare System (WHHS) - Fremont, Kaiser Permanente - Fremont, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital and will discuss the description and services that the HSO provides, their mission statement, and description of the HSO management. Our mission for CMI is to educate,train,and inspire the Cadet Corps so that every cadet becomes a recognized leader of character and that they are dedicated to the values of honor,courage, and commitment. They should be prepared for a career of service to the community and country. The mission for the Perris Union High School District is to provide educational programs and opportunities which gives intelligence, social, emotional, and physical aspects for all students that are in the district and are able to become productive members of our society. The mission statement is also to create high quality learning opportunities.
Why is it important for colleges to have a mission statement? It is important for college universities to have mission statements because it indicates what the college academic policy offers students. Mission statements should provide the organization’s purpose and sense of direction while making the university look attractive within the organization to incoming students. A successful mission statement should be able to covey ethos, pathos and logos in some sort of way which will be used in principles of the mission statements. Prahalad and Gary Hamel explained in the Harvard Business Review that the most powerful way for an organization to prevail is for it to “identify, cultivate, and exploit the core competencies that make growth possible” (2000). Lockheed Martin has thoroughly aligned its competencies, business objectives, and key performance indicators, which has undoubtedly contributed to the corporation’s effectiveness.

Mission Statement: The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) serves as a means to help protect the health of all Americans and their environment. In their efforts to do so the EPA 's purpose is to protect U.S. citizens from being exposed to possible health issues in all aspects of their lives, whether it be at home, school, or even work. These efforts are being made all over the U.S. to try and reduce external costs on U.S. citizens, by using the best info available to the EPA about health risks. Not only is the EPA advocating for the protection of the environment, but U.S. policies are having a larger presence of reforms that concern every aspect of the environment, ranging from natural resources to energy and transportation.
Corporate values, which provide a common language between the company’s management and its employees and show the direction in which the company is headed, will help the company incorporate the earlier recommendations into its business model smoothly. Additionally, they will help managers make decisions that are in line with the company’s objective and serve as a checklist that helps employees determine how they should portray themselves and the company. Trans-Cab can learn from ComfortDelGro’s corporate values which emphasize on service, quality, and reliability (See Appendix A).
