Drugs are a huge issue in the United States. The age limit of most drug users starts at young ages. 90% of Americans with a substance abuse problem started smoking, drinking or using other drugs before age 18. There are drug bust and arrest every day. The police for has been fighting this battle for years and still haven’t put a dent in the drug nation.
People experiment with drugs for many different reasons. Many first try drugs out of curiosity, to have a good time, because friends are doing it, or in an effort to improve athletic performance or ease another problem, such as stress, or depression. Other people due drugs because they have been doing them for so many years it just turns into a part of their life and if they try to get off them it’s not easy because after doing them for so long when you stop taking them it makes you sick and weak filling. Then when you’re sick all you want to do is go do more drugs then your right back where you started. Healing from addiction takes time. Making up your mind to stop using drugs is a big step. Long-term effects of drugs can be addictive. It affects the brain’s reward system in the same way as all other drugs and the likelihood of addiction increases considerably for those who start young.
