Looking for alaska, The debut novel of John Greem. He has put a different spin on books, like this one. He has based on teenage life without putiing them in clichè a "boy meets girl" category. Miles Halter or "Pudge" as he is called throughout the book, the protagonist, leaves the hot yet humid son of Florida to attent a school in the scorching and sticky heat of Alabama. Pugde is not used to having friends. but at culver creek this introvert and awkward boy is accepted what he is. Like most schools, there are groups, the biggest two being the rich kids who go home for the weekend and the kids who are there 24/7. The latter group adopts Pudge. This group is composed of unique personalities: There's the Colonel, his brilliamt but slightly crazy roommate; Takumi, The Japanese kid with a southern accent, and Alaska Young "The hottest girl in all of human history" and a careless girl who drinks, smokes and doesn't pay too much attention for Pudge's feelings.
