Task 3 In the Lord of The Flies by William Golding, William Golding believes man is inherently corrupt; therefore, law and authority is utmost important for mandkind. William Golding is going for a more savage look in the novel for example the plane that the children are on crashes and it kills the pilot. The children end up waking up from the crash and are stranded on an island. These sources “What Makes Us Moral” and the article “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” agree with William Golding’s Lord of The Flies.
Cassy’s superior intellect enables her to study Simon carefully revealing his fears and superstitions, weapons she used to defeat him. Cassy uses an attic in the old house to her advantage. The servants of Legree don’t know what happened exactly, but they do know that her body was taken down from it and buried.
1) Analytically speaking, Connell has split the story into two sections. The first half is composed of a hefty amount of foreshadowing and the second section that is composed of mainly, action. This makes for a great ride of suspense because the dual elements culminate providing a suspense filled experience. Quite early on, we are brought into Connell’s foreshadowing methodology. On the first page Whitney alludes events that suggest the foreshadowing of an ominous turn of events.
At the end of the book, Jack has become a beast at heart who lusts for blood and blood alone. Jack and Ralph get into an argument for the right to use Piggy's glasses to cook the meat that they hunt. Jack starts to get violent and they start fighting each other for the glasses. In an act of trying to stop the fight, piggy grabs the conch shell to get the attention of everyone and tell them to stop fighting. Soon after the hunters notice Piggy, they push a boulder off a mountain to kill piggy.
As the fifth chapter begins, it is visible that the boys are starting to lose a sense of organization. This is shown when in the chapter Ralph gets frustrated that the boys are not following the rules set on the second chapter. He brings up the importance of the signal fire, and how they should take care of it more. As if they had before the ship from the previous chapter would have saved them already. Near the end of the chapter Ralph doubts his qualifications of being the chief.
Imagine being on an island with unknown faces for an unknown amount of time. What would it take to survive? Become a civilization or turn against each other and become savages? In Lord of the Flies by William Goldberg, a twelve year old boy named Ralph tries to bring a group of stranded pre-teens together by just using a conch shell. Ralph had a plan to make a civilization and work together as a group to be saved from the island they were stranded on.
Astonished by his findings, the naval officer stood quietly as the boys finally got control of themselves. Curious as he was, the officer found it best to refrain from too many questions after just witnessing the boy's obvious unstable states. All of the boys scrambled onto the cruiser while most of their heads hung down as if they were too heavy to lift. Ralph imagined his life before the island, telling himself he should be relieved that they were rescued, but he could not help but worry about the new life ahead of him. Ralph observed each of the boys surrounding him, wondering if they were nervous to go home like him.
Notes from the Island Day 1: Today I found myself in a strange place, an island I suppose. I think the plane I was riding plane crashed and that’s how I ended up here. At first I was afraid that I was alone until I met another boy. Now that I think about it, he never told me his name. I’ll just continue calling this boy “Piggy”.
I believe good is intrinsic, while evil is extrinsic. Intrinsic means essential. Extrinsic means not part of the essential nature of someone or something. Everyone is born with a friendly soul but they have the ability to learn to become evil. Some people in life may seem along the lines of evil since they were born.
Bullies can be found anywhere in the world. They victimize, torture, and threaten others for their own benefit. Every bully has a weakness they attempt to conceal, but it is never truly hidden. This insecurity leads them to act out against seemingly inferior people to achieve a false sense of strength and security. The deep emotional struggle bullies face is evident in Lord of the Flies by William Golding.

Similarly, in Lord of the Flies, Piggy dies while opposing Jack’s leadership. While Ralph and Piggy argue with Jack about what is necessary for survival (i.e. hunting and chaos or law and rescue), Roger, acting in accordance with Jack’s desires, pushes a rock on Piggy and kills him (Golding). Like Macbeth and Banquo, Jack saw Piggy and Ralph as direct opposition and thus obstacles to his rule and sought to eliminate it. Throughout the novel, Piggy and Ralph consistently have ideological conflicts with Jack
George R.R. Martin once said, “There is a savage beast in every man, and when you hand that man a sword or spear and send him forth to war, the beast stirs.” This is significant because it fully depicts the conflict that occurs in the novel between the boys. A symbol is used to represent something as it has relevance to context. Symbols give deeper meaning or extend feeling to an actual word beyond what is being said. The use of symbols can be very helpful in bringing more change of conveyance in a piece of literature.
a. This model uses community, individual, group, and family strategies to advocate for diverse populations. One way is to include community leaders when building a collaborative model because the community leaders who have knowledge about cultural norms and cultural community resources while us with in the school would have knowledge of the students’ cultural identity. Also, the community leaders and families could help explain some cultural practices that we might not understand. Also, showing a leadership collaboration of people from different cultures, shows students that it is possible to work well with people who are different from us as a united front (Darling, J. & Heller, V., 2012). We must also explore the different cultural perspectives
