In the novel, Lord of the Flies, Ralph shows that he is a better leader by showing that he is willing to share power, he is a good communicator, and he has a positive outlook. When the boys arrive, Ralph knew that they would have to decide who the leader of the tribe is going to be in order to succeed. The boys vote for Ralph but Ralph realizes that Jack wants to have a leadership role too so Ralph said, “Jacks in charge of the choir. They can be---what do you want them to be?” (Golding 23). By Ralph letting Jack control the choir shows how he is willing to share power.
