The Beatles were greatly influenced during their time in Hamburg, Germany. The saying "practice makes perfect" is particularly relevant during this time in their career. During their time there they spent hours upon hours consecutively playing their instruments perfecting their craft and honing their respective talents. Despite the fact that they needed to take drugs in order to play for that many hours this experience signifcant role in the Beatles becoming one of the best or as some would say the best band ever. Before The Beatles became a band they were individual musicians all with people they looked up to and all with musicians they wanted to take certain traits form. Having four members of the band created a wide variety of influences on the band as a whole by combining the individual members pervious musical repertoire. Starting with George Harrison, his guitar work was influenced by American rockabilly music by Eddie Cochran and Carl Perkins that influenced the band’s songs throughout the years. He also incorporated the melodic lines and slight fills that both Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton created. John Lennon was a huge fan of Elvis, his opinion implied that the there was no true music before Elvis’s time.

The final song analyzed was “Yellow Submarine” which shows their mastery of the experimenting with their music, and the fact that they knew what would create a good sound for their music. At this point in time, the Beatles could produce songs in any genre, and this song was not an exception. This song discusses how they felt as famous people with the double meaning of the lyric “We all live in a Yellow submarine”. The barrage of sounds in the song and the overall character of the song are proof that the Beatles were not writing songs to obtain sales, but rather were writing to express themselves to the world. This was also the period in which the Beatles delved into drug use and wrote songs while they were high.
They referred to a drug called LSD in one of their songs and it became widely popular. It was a legal drug at they did it often and wrote about it. A quote from one when they were referring to the drug was “turning off your mind” in their song “Tomorrow Never Knows”. “The Beatles appearance with the with the “moptop” hair set them aside from the other bands”(biography.com). “Every record was a shock when it came out” (Simon&Schuster).
