The computer market has been dominated by powerhouse operating systems (OS) Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh. Both operating systems have been around since the digital age in the 1980’s. The Mac versus PC debate, Apple versus Windows, whatever you want to call it, both OS have undergone many modifications and changes to fit the demands of consumers which has led to the array of products today. In the past, we were taught how to use Macintosh in elementary school with these programs that teach the basics of word processing and computing, however, we did not use them in junior high and high school because of cost. There is a demand for computers and laptops in school, however, Apple does not fit the school’s requirements, especially cost, so they opt for Microsoft. However, my question is whether it is to expose us to different forms of technology and teaching us to adapt so that we may use these skills in the workforce. Unless, however, we follow a particular curriculum that requires said computers. Or maybe one is more advanced than it was back then? I am not saying one is better than the other, I am questioning the norm for computers in
