A Tragic Hero Macbeth was a tragic hero because he is a character whose fate is a product of what others do and how he chooses to react. He represents humankind in a way of ambition and greed, and showed a lot of personal courage in accepting his fate of death or annihilation. To start off, Macbeth is a character whose fate is a product of what others do and what he chooses to do. For example Macbeth wanted to be king but he was smart enough to not use a blade of his own so he took the daggers of Duncan’s “ two chamberlains” that were sleeping so that they would be blamed for the murder of Duncan. However he did not want to plant the daggers back in the servants possession with the blood on them but Lady Macbeth seen the daggers but refused to fail so she mocked Macbeth’s courage and took it unto her own responsibility to plant the daggers.
Throughout history, many of the great have fallen. They then become tragic heroes. In Aristotle’s definition of a tragic hero, is an character with a high status and admirable qualities with a flaw that will lead them to their downfall. (***, 309) A literary example of a tragic hero is Macbeth from Shakespeare's classic playwright of 1606, Macbeth.
Shakespeare once said, "A man cannot become a hero until he can see the root of his own downfall. " What makes a tragic hero? A tragic hero is typically a figure who is high in power, usually with a noble background. They are predominantly good in nature, but end up suffering a self inflicted falling-out due to flaws in their own personality.
A tragic hero is someone who faces adversity or demonstrates courage in the face of dangers and confronts his/her downfall. Whether due to fate, by his own mistake, or any other social reason. By possessing supreme pride and ambition by believing to be superior over others, having a capacity for suffering through guilt, and finally Macbeth’s transfiguration throughout the entire play. Therefore, for these three reasons I believe that Macbeth is a tragic hero.
I think that Macbeth is a tragic hero. The three witches that told him his prophecy of being the king tempted Macbeth. Although he is a loyal hero in war, he didn’t try to stay of of this, but he tried to speed up the process in order to fulfill his ambition. In the end, he fell into the game, which the witches had planned.
Macbeth, a tragedy written by William Shakespeare illustrates the life of Macbeth, a loyal general turned villain, who murders for his own personal gain. I believe that Macbeth is a villain because he causes misery for power and feels no remorse for the actions he takes to achieve his goal. Macbeth allowed himself to be persuaded by Lady Macbeth to commit murder. On page 366 she makes remarks against his masculinity by saying, “When you durst do it, then you were a man; and to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man.” Lady Macbeth persuading and taunting him caused him to go through with the first murder.
Some time our tragic heroes, have their downfalls, are the protagonist of a dramatic tragedy. A tragic hero is usually a great hero, who is respected by many people, but also it can be taken away through bad decisions. Wrong judgment is the result of his or her downfall, a flaw which might combined with fated and external forces. The downfall can cause the tragic hero to suffer for the rest of his life. In many literary works, at their highest point of tragic heroes usually have their downfall.

Macbeth is considered a villain because he murdered the king – under his wife’s consent – and became more and more power hungry as the play evolves. Lady Macbeth is named a villain because she manipulates her husband into doing the things she wants so she can indirectly gain more power. She convinces her husband to kill the king so he can have reign of the kingdom. They are characterized as villains because they have committed an unthinkable act out of pure selfishness and an unquenchable need for power.

The real Macbeth was a Scottish king of the eleventh century. He was remembered by running an efficient government and promoting Christianity. Shakespeare’s Macbeth bears little resemblance to this man. His actual name in Scotland would have been Mac Bethad Findlaich.
Macbeth is presented-at the very start of the play-as a mysterious protagonist that seems to have associations with the devil. Mysterious because when Macbeth’s name is first expressed on stage. It was spoken by the witches. Macbeth himself haven’t actually been seen by the audiences. This keeps the audience guessing and creates a sense of obscurity.
