Macbeth, a tragedy written by William Shakespeare illustrates the life of Macbeth, a loyal general turned villain, who murders for his own personal gain. I believe that Macbeth is a villain because he causes misery for power and feels no remorse for the actions he takes to achieve his goal. Macbeth allowed himself to be persuaded by Lady Macbeth to commit murder. On page 366 she makes remarks against his masculinity by saying, “When you durst do it, then you were a man; and to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man.” Lady Macbeth persuading and taunting him caused him to go through with the first murder.
