Rhetoric is prevalent in everyday sights; from a billboard to a television commercial, the literary skill is used to influence the intended audience. Rhetoric has been important and influential in literature throughout history. Due to the historic event of the first man landing on the moon, many articles and cartoons filled with pride and excitement while others had more of a negative tone were published. Regardless of their tone, the rhetoric was present and necessary in all of the published items; whether the publications were successful is another story. She shows this through his time in the Home of the Students when Equality is punished for his quick head, his love for learning, and the idea of learning, and when he escapes to the tunnel to work on his invention. Equality knows he is intelligent when he is punished in the Home of the Students because of his quick head.
In debate Darla Davis discusses the Taxes imposed on the American Colonists by Parliament. First not everyone in parliament believe that taxation of the colonies was right thing to do. According to Darla’s Article, Will Pitt and Edmund Burke, were two members of the parliament that under stood why the colonist were opposing the tax. Colonist were opposing men felt that the opposition from the colonists concerning the taxes existed, because the colonist had been practically ignored by England since having been established.
If Quebec Referendum was successful, Quebec would not be able prosper as a country. Québec is filled with breathtaking sites, waterfalls and more, beoming it’s own country would just destroy itself if it separated. Québec is a growing country with a bright future, it has much to offer to the world, this is not possible if Québec is having troubles being its own country. If Quebec became a country, it would be chaos. Quebec as a new country will have to start fresh in this growing and complicated world.

Also, controversy surrounding Ayn Rand’s work is the over-emphasizing of individualistic ideas she displays, as well as the adoration of egotism.
In the 1840’s there was a wave of democratization created after Jackson’s presidency. It was created the value of the common man, and the importance of every person who was in the government. Of course, there were exceptions to this rule as there still certain groups like blacks or women that were viewed as inferior, but the majority of the population felt like they had worth. This led to series of reforms: hospitals for the mentally ill, schools for people with physical disabilities, the temperance movement, and labor unions. This movements fought a better society with better treatment even though there would be no economic incentives to do so.
Unions have been around for a long time. The first union was established in 1866 in the U.S. with the foundation of the National Labor Union or the NLU. The National Labor Union was created to persuade Congress to change laws. The NLU was against holding strikes and instead relied on political action to reach its goals. The NLU, made up of farmers, workers, and reformers, excluding African Americans and women, firstly wanted Congress to limit the work days to just eight hours, and it was able to make this change, but after this none of its other suggestions made it through.
