Loki is usually depicted in the book as a man with sandy hair and a scarred twisted face. The reason is face is so jacked up is because his punishment. For the longest time, he had taunted and twisted the gods. A long time ago, a new god was born. His name was Balder, and he was perfect. One day he was walking along when he met two dwarves. Balder, being perfect was also kind. He greeted them, and not too long later he ended up dead. The two dwarves had murdered him and bled him dry, then used his blood to create Kvasir’s mead. A flyting is a battle between words, or disses. Magnus goes on a quest with his friends to retrieve Kvasir’s mead, or the small amount left, so he can become skilled enough to defeat Loki in a flyt. They return to Alfheim (realm of elves) to find Hearth’s dad, who has possession of the Whetstone, which is a stone that can sharpen any weapon. In the previous book when his dad is introduced, It is found that Hearth’s dad is a cold creature. When Hearth was a little kid, his brother was killed. Hearth’s father took it out on him and made him make a fine rug out of the animal that had killed his brother. Then, he declared he would only be free from work once he had filled the entire carpet with coins so not a single piece of blue fur was seen. His father unfairly decided that they were to get him a ring and he would be free. The ring was almost impossible to get, but they managed. The ring was said to make the person crazy for treasure. So, when they came back, his father had transformed into a dragon, hungry for valuables. They defeated him, got the Whetstone, and went to where the last few drops of Kvasir’s Mead were said to be. They found a good use for the Whetstone there. As they arrived, they found a field of servant giants. They were sent to chop wheat for the rest of their lives, but their scythes were dull, and
