“Life is all about making choices. Always do your best to make the right ones, and always do your best to learn from the wrong ones” (Unknown). I think that all of us could say that we have made choices in our life that we have learned from. Whether they were good choices or not so good choices, we have learned something from them nonetheless. In the movie Little Women a historical fiction movie produced by Gillian Armstrong, all of the sisters made choices that we can all learn from. More specifically, Jo, Meg, and Amy all made choices that we can learn important lessons from. In the movie Little Women, Jo cuts of all of her hair, which she was very fond of, to get the money for a train ticket. They had received news that father had been wounded, so in order to get the money to pay for the train ticket there, Jo decided to cut and sell her hair (Armstrong). This choice made by Jo shows that she sacrificed something that was very important to her, to better someone else that she loved. Jo cut off all of her hair in order to buy a train ticket for her mother. Jo was not forced to cut off her hair, but she did it anyways, and in the end it truly paid off for her mothers sake. I can relate to this because when I was younger I decided that instead of getting any birthday presents from my friends, I would ask them to bring food for the food banks and homeless shelters. I had sacrificed my own birthday presents in order to help others that needed that food much more than I needed presents. This choice that I decided to make, made me learn that sacrificing something of mine, is a good choice when it means helping someone else. It felt really good to help those people, even if it meant not getting anything for myself. Just like Jo, I lost something of mine, but it overall felt really good to help someone instead.
