On November 13, 2015 I conducted an interview with Gary Martinelli, who is a supervisor at Del’s Custard & Yogurt, which he has worked at for 20 years. As a manager Gary fulfills the responsibilities and duties of his job well due the fact he has such tolerant and easy going personally. I felt that even though he was a supervisor not everyone always saw all the work that he actually did. I was very involved in this interview to see all the effort he undoubtedly put into his job. I was eager to learn all the small details he put into his role as a manager. Del’s Custard & Yogurt is a small business, so it is simple there is only one department. It is not the type of position that every single person will succeed at. Supervisors must be effective communicators and have the ability to handle stressful situation. Most people would say that the money is the most rewarding thing that one can take out of the situation. This is a greedy view that money is what makes the world go round. The true reward is the connections that are created. Being a manager one gets the opportunity to be introduction to variety of people. The connections that we make in the work place take us to new opportunities that are unexpected investments. Also the respect that one can gain is valuable. When one is a supervisor other count on them to help them make decisions that will steer them to the right path. Mr. Gary Martinelli doesn’t not get offended easily, he know how to stay impartial in every situation that is thrown at him, and when presented in any type of confrontational situation he remains level headed. Personalities can be modeled over time but the traits we have are very critical to the way we act and speak. The traits that Mr. Martinelli naturally has are tremendously beneficial to the role as a supervisor. Gary Martinelli is an optimist he can always see the brighter side on a situations. I know for a fact that I am none of these qualities and if I wanted to be a supervisor I could learn a lot being around Gary Martinelli in the business
