The Army went to great lengths to safeguard the health of its prisoners as mandated in the Geneva Convention. Of immediate concern was preventing the spread of infectious diseases. Shortly after arriving at his first POW camp in America, each prisoner received a complete physical exam. It included vaccinations against smallpox, typhoid, paratyphoid, and tetanus. At least once a month thereafter, Army medical corps officers inspected the prisoners for communicable diseases and vermin infestation.67 At Camp Cooke, POWs with minor medical problems were treated at the camp infirmary.
SGT. Barrett and I contacted a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot that was parked in an unlit area at approximately 2300 hours. Once outside of our vehicle I started flanking toward the right side of the white Nissan Maxima, as the windows were darked out. SGT. Barrett went to the driver side of the vehicle, where the door was ajar, with a male sitting in the driver's seat with his feet planted on the ground I heard what sounded like a dense metal object fall onto the pavement from the driver's side of the vehicle.
I Peter Walton should be selected as a member of the National Honor Society because I have clearly portrayed the four characteristics:character, leadership, service and scholarship both in and out of school. I have shown character in school by treating others with kindness and respect and have earned the citizenship award twice during my high school career. Also I work as a cashier at a restaurant and as such I must be very patient with all the customers which has made me grow in character. I have demonstrated the quality of leadership by assisting in class decisions as vice president and secretary, and by leading a second pardeeville curling team to the state tournament. In addition, I was a VBS group leader, meaning that I had to look after
In Laurie Halse Anderson’s historical fiction novel Fever 1793, a young girl named Mattie has to go through many hardships due to the Yellow Fever epidemic in Philadelphia. Mattie has to experience many deaths, losses, and even the fever herself. Anderson uses repetition and quotes at the beginning of chapters to express the theme, which is that goodbyes are difficult but can give the person saying those goodbyes valuable characteristics and can later on help them. One theme that represents Fever 1793 is that goodbyes are difficult, but can change the person having to say goodbye for the better.
Another, reason why I should be selected is that I’m dedicated to Y Street so far. For example, I have done the Touch-A-Truck event, and I was a captain for Rev Your Bev day. If I get selected to be a member of the 2018-19 YSLT I continue driving my passion for Y Street to make sure it’s

I definitely concur with your response. I believe all of the characters have this longing desire to become their own person but when it comes to taking steps towards personhood they become apprehensive of what others may think. Sara is the character who is closest to personhood. In the beginning of the novel, we are introduced to the Sara 's sisters, Mashah, Fania, and Bessie. We also meet her parents.
I think that I should be chosen for Link Crew because I am always able to help out, give directions to lost freshmen, influence them in a positive manner, and be a kind upperclassman. I get good grades, I’m in all honors classes, I participate in a sport year round, inside and outside of school. I am involved in Calling all Colors here at Mona Shores High School, which is a group about tolerance and accepting other, and teaching others at our school how to make everyone feel equally welcome. I plan to keep in touch with my 9th graders by doing little things for them through the year, like dropping off little items to their classes; just like I was given as a freshman. I plan to say hello in the hallways and let them all know on August 31st, for freshman orientation that if they every have any questions, that I am easy to get ahold of.

Also, I will gain more responsibility and learn more leadership skills throughout my time in ASB. As part of ASB, I will be able to work with other students who have similar interests and want to be fellow leaders at Medea.
