The moment you step into an unfamiliar place known as Middle School, you're on another step upon the staircase of life. You won't know what's coming, but you will get discouraged at some point. You might get a lower score than you anticipated, or have problems socially and emotionally that you were never ready for. You have to be ready to face disappointments, and fears head-on. Everything that you're used to is about to change, so it's your choice whether you let it crush you, or raise you higher. I have overcome the period of my life of which you're about to begin. Not to make it sound so intimidating, but if you don't know how to balance your lifestyle, you won't make it. You can't limp through everyday, and hope for the best. You have to know how to balance your social, emotional, mental, and physical. This means that you shouldn't camp out at home studying every single day, because that will make you deprived of social. If you have an excess of one attribute, you will lose control of the rest. Fit your scale to who you are, and what needs you need. If you believe you can survive with less social, go ahead. I’m not telling you exactly what to do, but providing the guidelines to how to have the best middle school experience. You have to prepare yourself for change; a lot of it. You may walk in here with one group of friends, but walk out with a new one. You are bound to lose some friends too, but you can't let it get to you. I get it, it’s saddening when a friend you've been with all through elementary school suddenly changes who they are, and they stop being your friend. But everyone around you is changing, and you are too. Every experience you go through is making you into the person you're meant to become, and you make the choices. Don’t conform yourself to make other people feel like you're a “cool” person. You may feel the need to do this, but try not to. Be who you are, if your “friends” only like the person you pretend you are, then they're not your friends. Having
