I chose Servant Leadership for my discussion topic as it was my chosen style of leadership during my military career and the one I extend into my civilian career. I feel it is important to be a servant to your followers (staff) as they are the ones who truly carry out the tasks which accomplish the goals of your organization. Without truly understanding where your staff is mentally, sharing work and hardship with them and allowing them to see you have their best interests at heart; you will not have engaged followers (Farmer, 2010).
