Communication is a variable that designers manipulate in order to send out a truthful, bold, and eye catching message to their audience. Milton Glaser, an American designer, uses this medium to his advantage. His long and spontaneous career in art and design is a journey and a process that is evident through his work. With years of experience and going through processes of trial and error, Glaser’s works continue to adapt to the circumstances around him, which has made him a successful designer. Furthermore, Glaser takes risks and focuses on aspects like understanding his audience, and taking different approaches to learn from other non-design fields, to enrich his works. Glaser was exposed to a path of many harsh situations and circumstances. Firstly, He grew up to a family of Hungarian immigrants in the Southern Bronx region of New York. At the time, New York was a beacon of hope to immigrants; a new place to settle after the tragedies of the Great War, (Wack, 2014). Although the situations were not completely progressing towards improvement yet. The Second World War was on the verge of starting, and Great Depression was deteriorating the economy of the United States; this placed Milton in harsh situations, teaching him to adapt and take on new journeys. The world of design was being shaped around him, despite Milton not liking how it was coming to shape.
