Introduction
To guarantee a good research in both quality and efficiency in the collection of primary and secondary data, it is necessary to adapt a model in order to achieve the best possible results. The research onion shows different approaches that should be followed by a researcher when developing a research strategy. It was developed by Saunders and other scholars in 2007 in order to illustrate different stages a researcher must cover so as to formulate an effective methodology. Each layer of the onion describes in details the research process. In addition, the onion provides a very effective development from which the research methodology can be easily designed. The usefulness of the research onion depends on its adaptability to any

The mono method is associated with the use of one research approach for a given study. On the other hand, the mixed method is characterized by the utilization of two or more approaches of research and in most cases it refers to the use of quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The multi-method is characterized by the use of many approaches (Saunders, 2009, p. 151). However, there exists a difference between the mixed and multi-method even though the two uses two or more approaches. The method is characterized by the creation of a single dataset. On the other hand, the multi-method approach is usually divided into segments that produce a specific dataset (Saunders, 2009, p. 152). In this research the most appropriate method is the mixed-method. This is because the author employed the combination of quantitative and qualitative …show more content…
The data comes from the combination of historical first-hand sources and from respondents in a questionnaire and interview. Nonetheless, the primary data is not always collected and it can be obtained from the statistical collections like census. In addition, the data which is obtained from other researchers can also constitute primary data and it can be represented by the text being analyzed.
In this research the author utilizes two types of interviews this are: in-depth interviews and semis-structured interviews. In-depth interviews these refer to the qualitative research techniques that involve carrying out of intensive individual interviews on a small number of respondents by exploring their perspectives on a particular idea situation or program. The semi-structured interviews are types of interview where the interviewer has various predetermined questions that are going to be asked the respondents. At the same time he or she may ask additional unplanned questions in order to seek
