The idea of The American Dream has been in existence since the time of Ellis Island where people from all across the world, mainly Europe, came to America in search of better lives for themselves and their families. The classic definition of The American Dream is a set of ideals that include liberty, democracy, opportunity, democracy, and equality. Many people were drawn to america by these ideas. My modern definition of The American Dream is: Do what makes you happy, don't stop doing what you love because someone tells you it is wrong, live your life how you want too, and don't try to fit in a box that you don't belong in.
