When they know that they have behaved correctly and are rewarded for this, they are happier and enjoy the recognition. Positive behaviour promotes rewards and praise, thus the pupils will want to do well and receive more encouragement and approval. This helps with self esteem and motivation.

An important part of parent-child interaction therapy (PICT) is that the parents and child interact with the counselor coaching the parents from another room (Henderson & Thompson, 2011). Another important technique associated with PCIT is that the counselor gives the parents lessons and role plays with them to provide them with important strategies to use (Henderson & Thompson, 2011). As a parent of a 6-year-old girl that was divorcing, it would be hard to work with the other parent.
During this developmental interview, I chose to conduct an observation/interview study with my one of my cousin’s child. This child is a 4 year old girl and will be identified as “child K” in relation to her first name. Her parents had no problem letting me interview her, but I had them stay in the same room as us. The purpose of this interview was to observe the child’s physical, cognitive, and socioemotional development. I observed her behavior and gave her several tests to show how well she has progressed.
The benefits of applying boundaries and rules for children and young people consistently and fairly are that all children and young people will know what is expected of them. They will understand what is acceptable and what is not. If rules and boundaries are inconsistent or unfair, children will become confused and will not know what is expected of them. They will be unsure whether their actions or comments will get them into trouble. If rules are not applied consistently as staff are not aware of them, children will react to this and comment on this, e.g. you have given X a warning and have not moved their name on the cloud.
