When I was eleven I watched a few clips I found on YouTube about animal cruelty and how the animals we eat are raised and later slaughtered. The first video I watched was about how pigs are raised so close together that they can’t move and then knowingly killed in a slow painful slaughter of slitting its throat and letting the animal bleed out. This to me as a child was absolutely horrific and I decided right then that I would become a vegetarian. My road with vegetarianism lasted about 3 days until I was eating some fast food and I could not resist the orange chicken that was an option in front of me.
I know a lot of people don 't know how to farm nor do they want to. But a lot of people forget on caring about where and how they got their produce as long as it is on the market for them to feed themselves or their families. What they don 't know is more and more these days the animals are living in horrible factories their whole lives. Which means they aren 't being treated wrong. They are neglected with the proper food and are being drugged with medications like steroids.

Personally I am not a big believer genetic engineering (GMO’s) and super hybrids are the answer to the future of hunger or better for the environment and our health than organic food (grown my way), and I don’t just trust that biotechnology will create or even continue to create safe produce for us to eat.
