In what ways can local food be better or worse for the environment and our health than organic food? I have been buying local food from local farmers for many years no matter what state I have lived with my family, we are “Locavore’s” (better). However new groups and genetic engineering (GMO’s) can and does affect food resources. The questions around GMO’s”, super hybrids” remain conflicting. Personally I am not a big believer genetic engineering (GMO’s) and super hybrids are the answer to the future of hunger or better for the environment and our health than organic food (grown my way), and I don’t just trust that biotechnology will create or even continue to create safe produce for us to eat.
